Sony Xperia Z Ultra Launched in India for Rs 46,990 |
Sony's latest smartphone, an LTE-capable phablet rocking a massive 6.44-inch screen, is a powerful addition to the Xperia family. the device features a 6.4" monstrous screen and a Snapdragon 800 chipset, which is the fastest ARM chip put in a smartphone to date that runs at 1080p resolution.
This new screen is paired with Qualcomm's latest and greatest mobile processor, the impressively potent 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800, 2GB of RAM and 4G LTE connectivity too.
The Z Ultra also weighs in a bit more than the Xperia Z, at 212 grams versus 146 grams, but offers better water resistance certification. The Sony Xperia Z is certified to IP55 and IP57 levels, while the Xperia Z Ultra to IP55 and IP58 standards. Which all basically means that the Xperia Z can withstand submersion in water to a depth of 1m for up to 30 minutes, while the Xperia Z Ultra can safely go under the 1m mark and stay under water for longer periods. I also noticed that the headphone jack is exposed in the Z Ultra, but is still water resistant, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active’s design.
Available in stores in black, white or purple colors, from August 2nd onwards. There will also be a cover with battery (available seperately for Rs 11,990), Magnetic charging dock DK30 (Rs 2990) and Stereo Bluetooth Headset SBH52 (Rs 7490) available at launch.
