Apple To Release iPad 5 In September

We're going on 16 months since the last significant update to the 9.7-inch iPad and ipad mini.  This week word comes from Taiwan that one of Apple’s most-used manufacturing groups, Foxconn, will be ramping up production on both a second generation of the iPad mini and the 5th generation of the full-sized iPad as soon as next month in China. According to a report from DigiTimes, Apple is expected to announce the 5th-gen iPad this September.

• 500 grams – 25% lighter than the iPad 4
• 9.7-inch display with GF2 touch technology from the iPad mini

• Design similar to the iPad mini
• 8,500-9,000mAh battery – 25 to 30% smaller than the iPad 4

An iPad mini with Retina Display

The company's tablet iPad Mini 2 is speculated to feature a screen with a resolution of 2048 x 1536. This is almost four times the resolution of the present iPad Mini and is equal to the fourth generation iPad which was released along with the iPad Mini last year.  AU Optronics has been rumoured to be making displays for the iPad Mini 2.

Other specs include a more powerful dual core A7 processor and a 7.9 inch screen. It will also feature a 10-hour battery life, a FaceTime HD camera, and an iSight camera with 1080 pixels HD video recording. Apple is also trying to reduce the thickness of the iPad Mini 2 by using the Sharp's IGZO (indium gallium zinc oxide) technology in its screens.

As always, we have been hearing rumours about different apple products to be launched so it is not worthy to believe on these supposed leaks. Most of Apple's recent products have leaked in great detail ahead of their release dates, but none of this is anything close to confirmed until we hear it straight from the Tim Cook's mouth.
