Verizon LG G2 Could Feature Exclusive Wireless Charging

Verizon LG G2 Could Feature Exclusive Wireless Charging

The LG G2 is expected to launch in the U.S. next month. The South Korean company unveiled the new smartphone last week, noting that it would launch on Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile, but never mentioning that any model of the device would offer wireless charging.

It’s not unusual for competing networks to point to small differences in the devices they offer in an effort to gain an edge over the competition, and that’s exactly what Verizon is doing here. Verizon is claiming that its version of the LG G2 will feature wireless charging on the carrier’s sign-up page for the flagship handset

The press photo shown on the carrier’s sign-up page also appears to depict a somewhat different design for the smartphone’s rear buttons, though there’s no mention of this distinction in the accompanying text.

The company has yet to confirm the official release date and price. The flagship smartphone comes equipped with a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, a removable 2510 mAH battery, a 13-megapixel rear camera with OIS, 2GB of RAM, and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS with LG’s own features on top.

LG has also moved the volume and power buttons from the sides of the device to the back. This move from LG could be thought of as a major change as compared to the previous smartphones.

A new feature called "Answer Me" automatically answers a call when a the phone is raised to your ear, and "Text Link" lets users save certain information, including addresses, to a map.
