Google To Bring Android Device Manager To Provide "Find My Phone" Service To Android Officially

There are plenty of third party apps available on Google Play store that provide 'Find My Phone' services, but Larry Page and company have decided to bring official version of the Android Device Manager later this month

Have you ever lost your phone at marketplace or forgot it in a restaurant? There are plenty of third party apps available on Google Play store that helps you in finding your lost expensive and costly phone. But you can't trust these third party apps fully as their background process might copy your important data and as you connect to the internet that app transmit that data to somewhere else.

But now you don't need to worry about it. Later this month, the new Android Device Manager can help you out. It's one of a few simple features you can use to keep your device (Android phone running 2.2 Froyo or above)—and the data you store inside—safe and secure.

Larry Page and company decided to bring Android Device Manager to android devices officially for "Find My Phone" Service so that you can trust this feature.

WORKING:

Working Of the Android Device Manager

If your phone is lost somewhere at home, wedged inconspicuously between couch cushions perhaps, you can have your phone automatically ring on maximum volume. Why not just call it, you say? Well, that's another option you can do today, but if your phone is silenced or set to ring on low volume, you might not hear it. Android Device Manager lets you quickly ring your phone at maximum volume so you can find it, even it's been silenced.

If the situation is a bit more serious, and your phone has been lost or stolen farther from home, then you'll be able to see its real-time location on a map. Android Device Manager can help you keep your data from ending up in the wrong hands. If your phone can’t be recovered, or has been stolen, you can quickly and securely erase all of the data on your device.

As Google Play store is said to be the home of all apps therefore Android Device Manager will be downloadable from Google Play. Google says that you'll need to be signed in to your Google account to use it, and there will also be an Android app to allow you to easily find and manage your devices.

Many of us have been using some of the great third party tools for this for a while now, but we're still excited to see an official offering. We'll have a good look when it becomes official.
