Samsung Unveils 5.5-Inch Galaxy Note 3 Neo With S Pen Features

There is little reason for existing Galaxy Note II users to upgrade to this model since both models have almost the same specs. The Galaxy Note II is also recently updated to Android 4.3 although there are some software issues that Samsung needs to iron out fast.

The Galaxy Note 3 Neo will come in two variants:
3G and 4G LTE

The latter will sport a hexa-core processor which consists of two 1.7GHz A15 cores and four 1.3GHz A7 cores, while the former will come with a quad-core 1.6GHz processor. Both models will be equipped with 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and a microSD card slot that supports up to 64GB.

Samsung basically repackaged the Galaxy Note II, threw in some new features and renamed the device as a "lite" version of the Galaxy Note 3.

Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy Note 3 in global markets except the U.S and the U.K next month.
The Galaxy Note 3 Neo will be available in three colors: white, black and green.

A Convenient additional button for your Android device :- Pressy

The Pressy button on Kickstarter has excited more than 2,900 people as it adds an external physical button to your Android device.

Pressy is a small button with big potential

The Pressy app is set up to handle a few default actions. A short click toggles the flashlight. A long click toggles silent mode. Double click takes a photo. Pressy can be customized to fit your needs, so you can turn it into anything from an emergency button to a voice recorder activator.

The tiny button connects into the headphone port on Android smartphones or tablets. Coupled with the Pressy app, it can control certain functions, like turning on your flashlight, snapping a picture, or putting your phone on silent.

The idea is to save the steps of unlocking your phone, locating an app, and tapping or swiping your way to your goal.

The small device is shaping up to be a handy time-saver for Android users, especially if you don't have your headphones plugged in all the time.

Pressy likes to be pushed around.

When you need to use your headphone jack for actual headphones, you can pop Pressy out and use your headphone media button to activate Pressy's commands.

Pressy has already handily topped its US$40,000 funding goal. A US$20 pledge includes a keychain holder for when you need to unplug Pressy.

First 4K Video Recording Smartphone :- Liquid S2 by Acer

Acer has unveiled the Liquid S2, a brand new Android handset that features 4K 'Ultra HD' video recording i.e. the "first" to do so according to Acer's press release.

Liquid S2 as first 4K video recording smartphone

Specifications

The smartphone packs a 13-megapixel camera with a BSI sensor and f/2.2 lens, surrounded by a ring LED flash, which alongside 4K recording is also capable of 1080p video at 60 frames per second, and 27-megapixel panoramas.

The phone itself is reasonably large, accommodating a 6-inch, 1920 x 1080 (368 PPI) IPS LCD display, as well as a 2-megapixel camera, on the front. To facilitate 4K video encoding and decoding, Acer has harnessed the power of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 SoC, which packs a 2.2 GHz quad-core Krait 400 CPU, Adreno 330 GPU and wireless radios onto the one piece of silicon.

Speaking of connectivity, the Liquid S2 is definitely a high-end device, as you get tri-band 150 Mbps 4G LTE alongside Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC.
Internally there's also 16 GB of storage (expandable through microSD cards) and 2 GB of RAM, plus a 3,300 mAh battery.

Pressy, An Android Accessory Adds A Physical Multi-Function Button To The Devices

Pressy, a new third-party Android accessory will now be able to do works like open up your camera app and fire off a shot with just one simple click, filling the requirement of seeing fewer physical buttons on smartphones.

Pressy is a tiny physical button that fits into your phone’s standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Simply plug it in, download the Pressy companion app, and you can activate different functions by simply clicking the button.  Out of the box it comes with three preset actions, allowing you to turn on your phone’s flashlight with one short click, toggle silent mode with a long click, and snap a photo with a double-click.

The PRESSY

The Pressy app is designed to work on all Android devices running version 2.3 and up, which should include nearly every user out there at this point. Using the app, you can assign different actions to different button sequences, instantly turning on your flashlight, taking a picture or doing pretty much anything else you phone can do. Pressy also offers an API so developers can use the button within their own apps, and comes with a keychain holster for when you want to use your headphone jack for your actual headphones.

With Pressy you can assign different actions to different button sequences, instantly turning on your flashlight, etc.

Pressy is described by its creators as the “almighty Android button,” quickly hit its $40,000 goal, raising $60,000 in its first day. With 45 days left to go, Pressy has already raised over $200,000.

Many of the “early bird” Kickstarter deals for Pressy are already sold out, but you can still grab one for as little as $17, or $20 if you want the convenient key chain holder as well. With funding in place, the Pressy team should have no issues getting the product manufactured in the 4 month time-frame they have set for themselves.

Google Nexus 7 Gets New Update

Earlier this month we reported on a GPS glitch that affected the new Nexus 7′s ability to secure and maintain a GPS connection. As it turns out this isn’t the only issue affecting the Nexus 7 (2013). Numerous reports have come in about the multi-touch display as well. Apparently some users are experiencing issues with pinch to zoom, ghost taps and other odd behavior.
The good news is that according to Google’s Community Manager Pual Wilcox, both problems are solved by a new update, build number JSS15Q. Even better, the update has already started rolling out to folks and there have been reports that this update does in fact seem to alleviate problems relating both to GPS stability and touchscreen-related issues.
While the update should shortly be making its way to a device near you, remember that it can sometimes take as long as a few days to fully roll out to everyone. If you are really anxious to get your hands on the update, you can always check for it manually by going to Settings > About Phone > System Updates.

Sony’s Interchangeable Lens Attachments For iOS And Android Devices Leaked

Sony’s Interchangeable Lens Attachments For iOS And Android Devices Leaked

There has been a lot of news about smartphones sporting massive cameras, like the Nokia 1020 that comes with a 41 megapixel camera, or the soon-to-be-seen Sony Honami, which may come with a 20 megapixel camera and interchangeable camera lenses.

Now, according to SonyAlphaRumors, there will be two different lens-cameras—DSC-QX10 and DSC-QX100—and each come equipped with built-in sensor, Bionz processor, Wi-Fi, NFC and SD card slot.

The most exciting lens camera will come equipped with Sony’s RX100M II 1-inch sensor and Zeiss lens, which means you essentially get that camera’s performance, but on your smartphone. The second model will feature a 10x zoom and 1/2.3-inch 18-megapixel CMOS sensor, which is basically the one Sony uses in its WX150 camera.

Sony’s Interchangeable Lens Attachments For iOS And Android Devices Leaked

The report claims that the camera lens can be used, both in tandem with smartphones, and seperately as well. Sony will reportedly offer a companion app which will be used to power the experience. The report also reveals that the accessories will be compatible with both Android and iOS devices.

It’s unclear what the two lens camera will be priced at—the RX100MII is $600 while the WX150 is $400—but we imagine they won’t be cheap. We’ll keep you posted on any further details, so stay tuned.

Leak reveals Sony's upcoming 20.2 megapixel camera lens attachment

It is possible that the new accessory will come with a price-tag that could be higher then many other camera lens attachments found in the market. While it is still not certain if the accessory will be seen or not, the concept is pretty neat, especially if the camera lens can be strapped onto older-generation Android and iOS devices which came with a relatively lesser camera.

What do you think? Are you interested in this? Wondering how much it’ll go for? Let us know in the comments.

Cheapcast App Turns Android devices Into Chromecast For Free

Cheapcast App Turns Android devices Into Chromecast For Free

It's for sure that you have already heard about Google's Chromecast and want to try it but didn't know how it works. An app, Cheapcast created an opportunity for you. With this app, you can try out Chromecast experience without spending $35. CheapCast, a free app turns any Android 2.2 (or higher) device into a Chromecast “target.”

Designed to mimic Google's $35 dongle, it instantly gives a phone or tablet the ability to stream from Chromecast-enabled apps to other devices on the same WiFi network. If the device acting as a receiver has a small screen, you can also connect it to a TV with no WiFi via an HDMI cable. Cheapcast's Google Play page warns that since it's at the early stages, it can't display Chrome tabs, and some of its other functions might still be on the fritz.

Cheapcast's Google Play page warns that since it's at the early stages, it can't display Chrome tabs, and some of its other functions might still be on the fritz

Once you have CheapCast activated, other devices on your network will be able to send video and audio to the phone or tablet. There are only a few apps that work with the Chromecast right now, so your options are limited. YouTube streaming works well and is very fast. Google Play Music is also snappy and error-free. Netflix seems to be the most trouble at this stage. The app often fails to detect the CheapCast as a valid casting location.

One of the most interesting parts of the Chromecast is tab casting from desktop Chrome, but that does not appear to be working yet with CheapCast. The Chrome extension just doesn't see the CheapCast device on the network. Likewise, desktop video players on YouTube and Netflix don't detect CheapCast.

Of course, CheapCast is free and there’s no reason not to check it out if you want to take Google’s new streaming service out for a quick test drive. Otherwise, you should probably stick to a Chromecast, which allows you to stream all of that wonderful content to your TV.

You can download the app from Google Play.

Samsung Wallet: Apple's Passbook-Like App For Selected Galaxy Devices

Samsung Wallet Is Apple's Passbook-Like App For Selected Galaxy Devices

Samsung has just announced its new Wallet mobile payment app for its Android devices at the Mobile World Congress and it looks a lot like Apple's Passbook. The app was announced in beta for developers back in February, but it has only just now made it to the Play Store.

Samsung Wallet is described as “a one-stop destination for your boarding passes, membership cards, coupons and event tickets.” Going forward, compatible apps will let you load tickets onto Samsung’s new wallet, where you can easily manage your digital life. There are also time and location-based push notifications which let users know about offers and updates, and users can display barcodes to scan at payment desks. If all of that reminds you of Passbook.. that's because they're all passbook features.

Samsung Wallet can store boarding passes,

membership cards, coupons and event tickets

Samsung Wallet can store your boarding passes,  membership cards, coupons and event tickets

Features:

>> Optimized for HD and Full-HD Samsung devices
>> Store and manage tickets, coupons, mobile boarding passes and membership cards in one convenient
      place
>> Offers 5 default categories for easy management of Tickets. You can also add categories for more
      personalization
>> Customizable time and location-based reminders to show the Tickets at the right time and place.
>> Synchronize all your Tickets to multiple devices using Samsung account
>> Receive and store Co-marketing offers
>> Create your own tickets manually by using ‘Create my ticket’ feature
>> Discover grocery coupons and digitally save them to loyalty card of participating groceries

Supported Devices

>> Galaxy S3
>> Galaxy S4
>> Galaxy Note
>> Galaxy Note 2

So if you have one of those supported Galaxys, you will be able to download the Wallet app from the Google Play Store.

However the drawback is that with so few Galaxy-branded handsets able to support the current edition of Samsung Wallet, it will be unlikely potential users will have more than one of those supported models. So the push and sync feature of the Samsung Wallet does not seem like it will be all that useful although it could have set the Wallet apart from Passbook.

Back in February, several sites were mentioned to be Wallet-compliant, including Booking.com and Hotels.com but as of right now the Samsung Wallet is not capable of making transactions only storing and maintaining deals and bookings.

Perusing the reviews, many users seem to be experience invalid package errors and the like, so it seems as though Samsung may have preemptively released the app without performing proper quality assurance. A simple update will fix that right up… we hope.

Samsung Site Confirmed To Launch Galaxy Note III

Samsung Site Confirmed To Launch Galaxy Note III

Even with so much of achievements in mobile technology it seems that Samsung is so excited about the Galaxy Note III that it can’t stop itself from talking about the upcoming phone on its site.

A reader over at AndroidCentral was reading a page on Samsung’s site about SideSync, an app that allows your computer and Samsung smartphone to share screens and peripherals. In the documentation it talks about how you won’t need to download any of the phone side portion of the software if you have a Galaxy Note III as it will come pre-loaded with the package.

While reading a page on Samsung’s site about SideSync, a reader found in the documentation about how you won’t need to download any of the phone side portion of the software if you have a Galaxy Note III as it will come pre-loaded with the package

Samsung has sent out invitations confirming that its long-awaited third-generation phablet, the Galaxy Note III, will be making its official debut on September 4, on the eve of the IFA trade show in Berlin, Germany.

There’s no mention of the specs of the phone, but new reports suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is more or less confirmed to ship running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean natively,  sport a 1080p Super AMOLED screen anywhere between 5.7 to 6-inches in size, an octa-core Exynos 5420 or quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor depending on market, 3GB of RAM, 13-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, LTE-A connectivity.

In addition to Android 4.3, we expect to see on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 feature an updated TouchWiz UI, as well as new software and applications from Samsung. . The Galaxy Note 3 will likely also feature an S Pen stylus, similar to the writing tools that have accompanied the original Galaxy Note and the Galaxy Note 2.

Images Leaked For iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C Before Official Release

We’re already pretty sure what Apple’s next iPhones (plural) will look like, but it’s always exciting to get a glimpse ahead of an official release, like peaking behind a secret curtain. Vietnamese website Tinhte, which acquired dummy iPhone units, provide a look of Apple’s upcoming mobile devices.

New images have emerged out of Asia, that claims to accurate mockups of the next products to come in the iPhone line, the iPhone 5S and the 'low-cost' iPhone 5C. These aren't actual devices, but are purportedly mocked up units constructed by an accessory manufacturer so they can get a jump start on production before launch.

5S rumored iPhone will be a slight upgrade from the iPhone 5 that indicate Apple will largely stick to the current iPhone 5 design. The flash with the unit showing the rumored dual-LED flash set to debut in the iPhone 5S.

5C iPhone models have almost exactly the same size iPhone 5, the corners are more rounded, lumpy skin is not smooth but slightly lighter. Notably, the buttons made from plastic, not metal.

Apple is expected to launch both new iPhones this September, or possibly in early October, so we’re not all that far from seeing these officially. What the dummy units don’t tell , obviously, are the device’s internal specs, and whether the iPhone 5S will come with fingerprint security.
