Uranus, Neptune, YouTube, and Lonelygirl15

The blending of Uranus and Neptune is opening up new and interesting avenues for creative visual expression, and the Internet is rapidly morphing into the playground of Uranus-Neptune energies. In my soon-to-be-published book, Cosmic Trends, I discuss in detail how the ongoing mutual reception of these two planets is affecting trends in many areas of modern life. Uranus—the modern ruler of Aquarius—is in Pisces, while Neptune—the modern ruler of Pisces—is in Aquarius, so they are said to be in shared mutual reception.

Reality and illusion are sometimes not clearly defined when Uranus and Neptune combine energies. That is one reason why “reality” TV shows are so popular. Aquarian social networks like MySpace and Facebook are another manifestation of this blending or planetary “cross-pollination.”

YouTube, a video sharing site, is another. The surreal blending of reality and illusion was on display throughout the past summer via the ongoing YouTube video diary of Lonelygirl15, a supposed teenager who recorded her life on video. Millions of viewers tuned in. Fan sites blossomed. However, it turns out that Bree, aka Lonelygirl15, is really an actress named Jessica Rose. Her “diary” was filmed and produced by three amateur film makers who hope to turn Lonelygirl15’s serialized video musings into a full-length movie. An actress and professional film makers, usually associated with illusive Pisces and the silver screen planet Neptune, created a powerful illusion through an Internet (Uranus) video sharing community (Aquarius). This type of blending is occurring in many areas of popular culture.
